Things to know about Shortcut import and export
In this article, we’re going to explain some things you need to pay attention to when you're exporting and importing data to Shortcut.
Exporting your data from Shortcut
During the test migration, you get to export 20 tasks to see how it works. Shortcut is a little different in that regard. On Shortcut, each task has a State (Workflow State) which is used to group tasks during the migration.
The Migration Wizard exports tickets from one Team even if there are less than 20 tasks in it. For instance, if the source Team contains 5 tasks then you only get to test 5 tasks.
Plus, Migration Wizard displays all workflow states during a task mapping step. This way, tasks will migrate to the Section aligned during a Demo setup.
Another thing that you need to be aware of is that files attached to a task comment migrate in a specific way.

Importing your data to Shortcut
When it comes to importing data to Shortcut, there are a few things you need to know.
First, ensure you create users in Shortcut before you start the import. Second, remember that files attached to a task comment will transfer as task attachments in Shortcut.
Note that Migration Wizard can only import all tasks to the selected Team. Plus, you can see all workflow states during task mapping. So, tasks will move to the Workflow State, mapped during a Demo setup.
